Hello! I'm Jen - photographer, collaborator, and visual strategist.
Helping mission-driven companies and nonprofits to share their stories.

My StoryIn the beginning, my work was rooted in nonprofits — not behind the camera, but in fundraising, design, event planning, and working closely with volunteers and sponsors. I lived in the world of messaging, design, budgets, logistics, and community building. I saw what it takes to inspire people to show up, give generously, and believe in a mission. That experience gave me something invaluable: a deep understanding of how important an image really is. I saw firsthand how the right visual could increase attendance, drive donations, inspire volunteers, and help a mission resonate. I also saw how weak or misaligned imagery could dilute an otherwise powerful message. Long before I was creating the visuals, I understood their weight.

When I transitioned into photography, I launched my own business — and I did it while I was pregnant. That season forced clarity. There was no room for ego, distraction, or wasted effort. I had to be efficient. I had to be intentional. I had to build something sustainable, not just creatively exciting. Becoming a mother at the same time I became a business owner changed how I approach everything. I value preparation. I respect time.(You realize how much you can actually get done during those baby naps.) I build systems that support both excellence and longevity. Starting a business under those circumstances strengthened my resilience and sharpened my focus. I wasn’t just chasing opportunities — I was building stability, reputation, and meaningful work that could grow with my family. That foundation shaped the way I serve clients today: thoughtful planning, streamlined production, a deep respect for everyone’s time and energy, and the knowledge that we always have to adapt.

At the same time, my work expanded into larger brands and entertainment companies. The productions became more complex. Expectations were higher. I began collaborating regularly with motion crews, creating stills alongside video campaigns in fast-paced commercial environments. That chapter sharpened my technical precision and taught me how to operate efficiently at scale — delivering polished, cohesive visuals under real pressure.

Now, with the perspective of nonprofit experience, the discipline of commercial production, and the ownership that comes from running my own company, I find myself wanting to return to work that does tangible good — but with a far more refined skill set. Not as a step backward, but as a deliberate next step forward. I understand mission-driven organizations because I’ve worked inside them. I understand brands because I’ve delivered at that level. And I understand business because I’ve built one.

Through every phase, one thread remains consistent: story first. Honest, intentional imagery that doesn’t just look strong — it works. And now, more than ever, I’m focused on using that experience to create work that truly helps people move forward.
